Open every day from 7am to 12am. Best to order Kacang Pool Daging (beef). Soft, pillowy bread toasted with margarine eaten with a scrumptious bowl of stew of beef and beans, chilli and onions, topped with a single fried egg on top. The taste will be remembered forever.
Opens Friday to Tuesday, 7am to 1am, this restaurant is a famous franchise for Oxbone Soup and Mee Rebus Tulang. However, my top pick for this place is the amazing LAKSA JOHOR, a Johorean variation of the famous laksa noodles from Malaysia.
Open every day from 12pm to 10.30pm, this grilled seafood place not just serves amazing freshly grilled seafood, but serves an amazing atmosphere. The most popular dish surprisingly is not their seafood but a dish made from sweet potato leaves (pucuk keledek). Caution, the Sambal and the fish dips may be ever so slightly spicy. Still 10/10, best seafood place
Open every day, 11.30am to 9.30pm, this restaurant serves traditional Malaysian dishes eaten with rice. The dishes are traditional Negeri Sembilan style dishes with smoked meat. It's spicy, and creamy with Coconut milk and the scent of smoked meats is AMAZING. Pop in here if you'd like a good Daging Salai Masak Lemak.
Open Saturday to Thursday for lunch ONLY, 11am to 3.30pm. Go for the signature Ikan Siakap Goreng (Fried Sea Bass) with onion soy sauce dipping sauce. Paired with rice and your choice of vegetable side dishes (or more seafood like prawns and squid), and you'll eat like a king. The seaside pier view comes with the territory putting the restaurant right at the pier facing the Strait. You can see Pulau Ubin from here too.
