ZIRAEL Vegan Restaurant · Higashiyama, Kyoto: such a cozy spot for meals! there is usually a line of foreigners waiting for a chance to talk to the chef and owner. its a traditional cafe spot, where the owner talks to you warmly and you can freely converse with her and the other patrons! If you are missing some fresh greens and healthy food in japan, this spot is amazing! extremely generous portions, and delicious dessert! not to mention in a super popular area in kyoto!

Hafız Mustafa · Istanbul, Türkiye: this historical dessert shop and cafe is nestled in the midst of such historical places like the aja sofia, the blue mosque, and the basilica cistern! but it too has historical impact as it opened in 1864. Get turkish coffee, turkish delights, but most importantly. the rice pudding. it has a layer of this lightly baked and browned cream, that becomes this almost malted light caramel flavor. I dream. about this. pudding.
