Choon Hui Cafe · Kuching, Malaysia: Famous Sarawak Laksa spot even visited by the late chef Anthony Bourdain; parking is almost nonexistent, might be better to get dropped off there or park across the street and walk
SHARING Downtown · Kuching, Malaysia: Created the infamous "Ice Cream Chicken Chop"... it's a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a grilled chicken cutlet - there are multiple branches so you can go elsewhere too if you'd like
Treasure Land · Sibu, Malaysia: Best Diang Biang Hu 鼎边糊 in Sibu - people often come from out of town just to eat here (which is why there's always so many people waiting...)
Open Air Market 露天巴刹 · Kuching, Malaysia: Must haves: Sio Bee, Soy Milk, and Kolo Mee; it's in the city so parking is pretty bad, but you might be able to just park further and walk over instead - a bit touristy but in a 'if my friend comes to Kuching for the first time I should probably take them here' kind of way
Fresh Three Layer Food Court · Kuching, Malaysia: The original birthplace of 'Teh C Special' - milk tea with gula apong (a specific type of palm sugar); if you are interested in trying the AUTHENTIC THING, you should head here. Other places don't use gula apong but sugary caramel type syrups which don't have the fragrant sweetness of real gula apong. The tea is so good that even old people order it when they come to this kopitiam. It's a big food court, so there's a few things to eat too. :]
