Part of the ‘Chubby’ chain (known for affordable Wagyu), the skewers are relatively small, but they’re all super flavorful (all the beef is Wagyu) and only $1.4 each (though it does add up). Of course there’s non-beef options as well, I highly recommend the eel and chicken skin. You grill everything yourself at the table (shared grill for the table) and it’s built to be a great place to go with friends to hang out!
Hands down my favorite sushi/donburi spot in Boston! Fish quality is consistently amazing and their add-ons can make every bowl customizable! I’m big back and love the Tora Don (has a lil bit of everything, including a whole big shrimp) and adding extra mackerel! For cooked fish enjoyers, get the Unagi or Tokyo Don (the seared salmon belly melts in your mouth)! They also have some really good rotating specials, I really liked their monkfish liver, it was smooth, and full of umami!
Absolutely incredible little spot right on the edge of K-town! As their name suggests, they specialize in Hokkaido Cheese Tarts! Their classic is like a nice miniature cheesecake in a shortbread crust and a solid go-to! They also have an egg brûlée tart that’s very reminiscent of Chinese egg tarts!
Literal hidden gem of a spot, tucked away in a residential area. My go-to family-owned authentic Puerto Rican cafe growing up. I love getting their chicharron con arroz amarillo (though it’s very cronchy so beware if you have sensitive teeth), but my absolute favorite is their fried stuff for quick on-the-go eats! Love the Rellenos de Papa (crispy fried mashed potato ball with ground beef in the center) and can never go wrong with a big pastelitos! Or get a Mofongo for true authentic eats!
