This was a very nice Kaiseki place I went to while traveling in Japan! It has a Michelin Star! I got to practice my Japanese with the owner and chef, and he was incredibly kind and even gave me a mini book he wrote regarding the place he sourced all his food from (the island where he is from, Teshima). Really fresh and clean flavors!! You get a set menu and I also got the drink pairing for the night.
I got their Tsukemen! (their number 1 most popular). I absolutely love Tsukemen, and they have a nice citrus sudachi you can put on yout noodles before the dipping sauce! I had to wait in line, but it was really good :D
This is my DMV native pick! If you are in Washington DC and in the mood for ramen, Chaplin's is great! They have nice cocktails and great options overall. I personally love to get the Tan Tan Men, add corn add butter, maybe add another stamina egg if I am super duper hungry!
This I think was my favorite restaurant when I traveled to Korea! Handmade noodles, extremely tasty soup base, unlimited vegetable mushroom. We added on beef it was great. At the end of the vegetable and meat and noodle hot pot, they also give you rice to make fried rice in the bowl when done. if you love mushrooms especially this place was a knockout! Kinda hard to find its in a basement maze of a building. Good luck!
So, people wouldn't think to get pizza if traveling in Japan right? If you are wanting a change of pace from delicious Japanese food, this place is stellar. I got their at the time 6,500 yen course, with an appetizer plate of meats and fresh veggies (antipasti misti), a pizza margherita, a lemon cream gnocchi, a sea bream fish, and a semifreddo. I also got a blood orange mixed drink! It was cool, my friends and I were sat by the pizza oven!!! So we got to see a lot! Overall really great taste!
